| T-Mobile SD Holm hat Krebs
|
Danish ex-professional Brian Holm has been diagnosed with intestinal cancer, after a routine check up on Wednesday followed by two days of tests in hospital. Currently he holds a position as assistant team manager with T-Mobile, where he rode for a couple of ears in the mid 90's helping Bjarne Riis to his victory in the Tour de France in 1996. Holm's top year as a rider was in 1991 when he won Paris-Camembert and Paris-Bruxelles.

"I've never been more scared in my life. It's not particularly brave to cry more than your eight-month-old son. And it's not a nice feeling to have made your family and friends unhappy when you've always been telling them that you were almost invulnerable. It's not cool to lie awake at night feeling that an alien inside your body is eating you up. The only courage I can come up with right now is to fight this f*****g illness."

Wieder da!
|

T-Mobile's Brian Holm has taken up his job as assistant sports director with the team. In the last few months the Dane underwent surgery and chemotherapy for intestinal cancer. In February, he wrote, "I've never been more scared in my life." Now, he happily declares, "I feel like I have been born again."
