  Kelme to be suspended?

According to reports in the Spanish press, the Comunidad Valenciana-Kelme team has been threatened with suspension from competition by the UCI unless its main sponsor, the Valencian government, signs contracts for seven riders. The team has been competing since the start of the season, but Ángel Casero, David Muñoz, José Cuenca, José Martínez, Vicente Ballester, Adrián Bonilla and Agustín Alonso have yet to race.

This could jeopardize the team's participation in the Giro d'Italia, although even this has yet to be confirmed by the race organisers. The team management will travel to Milan on Wednesday to discuss the Jesus Manzano affair with the Giro organisers.

  RE: Kelme to be suspended?

A question mark now hangs over Comunitat Valenciana's continued sponsorship of the Kelme team. There are indications in the Spanish press that the Comunitat might pull out of the sport altogether having been denied entry to two of its main targets this season.

  Es wrid nicht besser

Kommt mir irgendwie bekannt vor:

As if being the team at the centre of Jesus Manzano's doping allegations wasn't bad enough, the Spanish Comunidad Valenciana-Kelme is now beset with rumours that it has failed to pay its riders for April, that it is considering selling its top rider Alejandro Valverde to raise money to continue operating, and that Vicente Belda may be replaced as directeur sportif.

Despite the strident denials offered by the Comunitat’s representatives in recent days, Saiz confirmed Valverde had been offered to his team.

"It’s true that (CV-Kelme general manager) José Luis Aznar has called (Liberty president) Manuel Piñera. During the conversation it was suggested that something could be worked out with Alejandro Valverde," Saiz admitted.

  Non-payment

Comunitat Valenciana-Kelme's crisis-stricken season has taken another turn for the worse as team leader Alejandro Valverde has presented a complaint to the International Cycling Union (UCI) for non-payment of wages and win bonuses.

According to SER, all that remains to be finalised is confirmation from the UCI that Valverde can be released from his contract.

Looks like a bad sistuation with the team, at this rate it will self-destruct soon:

Comunitat Valenciana-Kelme team manager Vicente Belda has revealed in the Spanish press today that he is making a claim for damages against his former rider Jesus Manzano following Manzano’s recent allegations of doping within the Kelme team.

...

Belda has admitted that the prevailing atmosphere in the crisis-hit CV-Kelme team is one of insecurity. He stated that rather than going forwards since the arrival of the Comunitat Valenciana as main sponsor, the team has gone backwards.

...

In a separate interview that appeared in today’s Marca, Valverde described the situation at CV-Kelme as "ugly".
