Training crashes
Swiss the Fabian Jeker (Saunier Duval), Alex Zülle and Oscar Camenzind and the Spanish González (the three of the Phonak) suffered yesterday an accident in Alicante when closing to them consciously a conductor of 84 years who made them leave the highway. The incident could be mortal, but luckyly it settled with a deep cut in the thigh for Jeker and slight contusions for the other three cyclists.
The facts happened in the highway between Muchamiel and Busot, in an ascent section. The conductor, desconocedor of the new laws of traffic that allow to the cyclists circular of two in two in parallel. he put themselves to the height of them and began to recriminate to them. Discussion. In the controversy, one of the cyclists gave manotazo in a window and the conductor responded closing to them.
The cyclists fell over the guardarail and was with this one with which Jeker took place in cut of eight centimeters in the left thigh.
The Swiss cyclist was transferred in ambulance to the Hospital of San Juan (Alicante) where practiced five stitches to him and will have to be ten days without being able to train.
The conductor stopped after the accident and, like the cyclists and a witness who went behind in his automobile, they lent declaration to the Police, that arrived shortly after at the place of the accident.
Fabian Jeker has presented/displayed a denunciation. is when more and more hard it was training to me. This parón is going to cut the preparation to me, but still I must thank. It could to us have killed, Jeker said.
